Theme Scripture
John 2:1-10
On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”
4 Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.”
5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”
6 Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece.
7 Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim.
8 And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it.
9 When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom.
10 And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”
Exposition
There is a very powerful message in this scripture and I pray you take the time to read this message all the way through.
In the theme scripture, we see that Jesus and His disciples were invited to a wedding and at some point during the wedding, the wine ran out; obviously the wedding had not ended and there were many more people who needed to be served or who needed a drink.
So Jesus spotted six empty jars. These were jars that the Jews used for their ceremonial washing for purification purposes.
Jesus then asked His Disciples to pour water into the jars and as we read, we find out that the water had turned into wine by the time it was poured out to be served.
I believe there is a powerful message in this account of Jesus’ miracle at the wedding.
In this 11th hour, signifying the end time; there are so many thirsty souls that must be watered. Souls that must drink of the new wine which is in reference to the Holy Spirit. But where are the vessels to be used? Where are the empty jars?
The Bible says Jesus spotted 6 jars. As man was created on the 6th day, the number 6 signifies man (with all his weakness). God is looking for men in this end time. Men to pour himself into. He is not looking for perfection; he’s looking for available vessels.
God is ready to pour out himself into available vessels.
Acts 2: 17 says,
And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
But what happens when you try to pour water into a jar that is already full? It’s impossible right? Exactly! God is looking for empty vessels – people who have emptied themselves of pride, self righteousness and all the unwholesome traits that do not allow the Holy Spirit to have its way with us.
We need to rid ourselves of these things so God can use us. Emptying ourselves should be a constant and continuing practice. Imagine God begins to use you and then we become filled once again with these traits, like pride, etc; it means God cannot continue to fill us up to the measure that He would like. God wants to fill us up fully.
In our theme scripture John 2, we read in verses 8-10 the following:
“And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”
God has reserved the best of the giftings for the end time ministry, the end time army! God has saved the best of the giftings for us in this end time. There is no doubt we are in the end time; but who is available? Where are the available vessels?
Scripture says, “the harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few”. We need to present ourselves as available vessels to work in God’s vineyard. We need to join this great kingdom agenda to save souls and rescue the perishing. The time is up!
If you are reading this article, God is saying you are a candidate!
John 2:6 reads:
“Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece”.
The jars that were filled with water were those used by the Jews for their ceremonial washing, for purification purposes, and the Bible says each jar could take twenty or thirty gallons apiece.
The vessels could take so much. You have so much potential. You have capacity to do so much for God’s Kingdom. God wants to give you so much
Why don’t you present yourself today as a vessel, available for use by God, Who better to use you than God? It’s a great privilege to work for God.
Prayer
God, I empty myself today for Your use. I empty myself of foolish pride; of self-centeredness; of jealousy and envy; of anger and all the unwholesome things that hinder my walk with You. I empty myself today so you can pour into me.
Pour into me the best giftings. I submit myself as a candidate for the gift of the prophetic; of clear visions and dreams.
God, show me my potential. Show me my potential in Your Kingdom. Show me a picture of what you will have me do for Your Kingdom.
In Jesus’ mighty name, AMEN.

What caught my attention was “Whatever he tells you do it” in as much as we want to empty ourselves for God to use us, it is imperative for us to also pray to hid to the instructions of our spiritual fathers, mothers whom we are imitating, even as they also imitate Christ. God please have mercy on me, grant me the heart of obedience, so I will always obey you through the men and women of God you placed in my life. Even as I empty myself for you to fill me up, may I not miss any instruction you will give me directly, or through your servants. Amen 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

It’s a very inspirational message, in the sense that God actually wants to do something in our lives,
so we must give him the chance to do it. Very glorious.
